As a Clerical Assistant 3 at the Bureau of Driver Licensing, you will have the opportunity to provide customer service to the general public, driver license centers, and other units within the department. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will handle inquiries from different sources like the general public, internal customers, state agencies, and federal agencies. When responding to inquiries you will utilize the Problem Driver Pointer System (PDPS), Commercial Driver License Information System (CDLIS). Your main duty is to provide accurate information by interpreting and explaining sanctioned drivers' records to customers. You will also need to inform customers about Pennsylvania Department of Transportation requirements for restoring their driving privileges and guide them on submitting necessary requirements to prove they are not identified on PDPS. Additionally, you will advise customers on obtaining and maintaining a Commercial Driver License (CDL), as well as provide information on CDL disqualification or cancellation. To effectively carry out your responsibilities, you will need to analyze documentation, conduct follow-up research, make phone calls to verify documentation authenticity, and perform data entry tasks using Department of Transportation's mainframe systems to update Pennsylvania driver records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

The selected candidate for this position must undergo a fingerprint-based records check to be in compliance with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS).
