CMHA is looking to hire a Peer Navigator for our IMPACT program. This position will be located in New Britain.

Position Summary: The Recovery Support Specialist is sesponsible for engaging and linking current homeless or at risk clients with Opioid Use Disorder to MAT services. Serves as a liaison between CMHA and identified community providers to coordinate various aspects of care, including clinical services, housing support, and individualized case management, as needed, to complement current services. Assists clients to ensure stable community living.

Provides community outreach to educate, engage, and mobilize clients to obtain/maintain various supportive services, such as case management, clinical and other identified servicesProvide integrated case management services to program participants, connecting them to supportive or sober housing, entitlements, health care, food, clothing, and other essentialsAssists in adhering to SAMHSA grant requirements for population served, as well as meeting target outcomesProvides backup support as deemed necessary by IMPACT team leader regarding programming needs and client care, including assistance with crisis managementProvides advocacy and educates clients about services available, client rights, and issues related to substance abuse and mental illness

Requirements

Valid DMV License 1 year of case management experienceBeginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products including Work and OutlookHigh School Diploma or GED

Preferred qualifications

Certified in PMT trainingCPR and First Aid certificationExperience in an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systemBachelor’s Degree in behavioral health (psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, alcohol and drug counseling)

COMPENSATION RANGE: $18-$22 an hour
