Child Group Therapist, Afternoon IOP

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

As a group therapist in our Child Program, you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. Introduced as our newest site in 2021, our brand new state-of-the-art facility at Oak Brook is modern, bright, and creates an inviting therapeutic space for both patients and employees alike.

Please note the schedule for this role is Monday thru Friday 9:30am to 5:30pm.

What You'll Do

Developing and implementing DBT/CBT skill groups, working with patients aged 8-13 years oldProviding crisis intervention and staff support, as neededDeveloping and documenting treatment plans and weekly updateCo-facilitating creative expression and other experiential therapeutic groupsAssisting program director in supporting families through phone coaching and follow-up callsChecking in with treatment team about changes and progress for individual patientsProviding clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetingsProviding individual support to patients, as neededProviding support to other team members in various treatment groupsProviding guidance and support for milieu staff during skills and executive functioning therapy activities/instructionParticipating in discharge planning for patientsOther duties, as assigned

Who You Are

1+ years of post master’s experience preferredPossess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)Prefer a candidate that holds the following licenses or certifications or will require supervision towards: LCSW, LCPC, LPC, LSW, PsyD, or PhD
