Title: Accounting ManagerCompensation: $120k-$150k + bonus + equityLocation: Central San Diego, 4 days on site

WHAT YOU’LL DOOur client is looking for an Accounting Manager who will support both the GL and Technical Accounting areas. You will be reporting directly to the Controller and could grow into the future Assistant Controller.

ResponsibilitiesServe as the lead member of the technical accounting team in the performance of research, the determination of financial reporting and disclosure impact, ensuring timely adoption of new accounting standards, and preparation of technical accounting memos.Ensure accounting processes comply with best practice financial reporting i.e., design, implementation and maintenance of effective accounting policies, procedures, and controls.Supervises, directs and reviews the work of accounting staff including but not limited to month/quarter/year end close, cash management, accounts payable, purchasing, and general ledger reconciliations/journal entries.Schedule, manage and coordinate the monthly/quarterly/annual close including the review and/or preparation of journal entries and reconciliations, supporting schedules and drafting financial statements.Assist in the preparation of the Company’s SEC reporting on Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, ad-hoc filings, and other financial reporting as required.Provide perspectives and conclusions under US GAAP, IFRS and regulatory accounting principles on queries from internal and external auditors.Assists in maintaining and improving SOX compliance as it relates to technical accounting processes.Support the development of management presentations and supporting schedules, including business reviews, strategic plans, and other leadership presentations and annual plans as needed.Proactively resolve issues and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Support ad hoc analysis and support on special projects, as required.

QualificationsEducational background in Accounting or similar disciplineCPA license (active) is preferred6+ years experienceBig 4 or mid tier public accounting experience strongly preferred along with industry experience managing the monthly closeOpen to someone straight out of a Big 4 public accounting firm at manager levelPure industry experience okay with technical accounting experinceTechnical accounting, ASC 606/842, stock-based compensation, and public company auditing preferredOutstanding knowledge and application of US GAAP regulations and guidelinesEnergetic, hands-on, and resourceful self-starter who can partner with all levels and functions of the company with a consultative and collaborative approachExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of internal and external audiences, including external auditors, legal and regulators.Experience with larger ERPs and systems conversions - NetSuite is preferred
