Overview
We're seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist/Controller to join our team. Responsibilities include performing full-service accounting tasks such as managing accounts receivable and payable, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking skills, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience with QuickBooks and Excel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage Accounts Receivable functions, including invoicing, billing, and collections.Handle Accounts Payable duties such as processing invoices, verifying expenses, and managing vendor payments.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.Conduct periodic audits of accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards.Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.Maintain confidentiality of financial information and sensitive data.Stay updated on changes in accounting principles and best practices.Utilize accounting software and other tools to streamline processes and increase efficiency.Assist with payroll processing and related tasks.Manage Travel & Expense Reports, including reviewing submissions, verifying expenses, and processing reimbursements.

Problem solving ability.Ability to think strategically and spot account trends.Ability to communicate and work well with others.Ability to create amortization schedules.Organizational skills necessary to prepare reports and perform reconciliation of accounts in a timely manner.Excellent interpersonal skillsAble to maintain absolute professionalism and confidentiality of all company matters.QuickBooks experience required.Excel experience required.4-6 years accounting and bookkeeping experienceHands on debit/credit G/L experienceFinancial reporting experienceFive yearsβ experience in accounting-related positionThe level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of an associate degree in accounting, Baccalaureate Degree in Accounting preferred.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Payroll experience is a plus.
