Cost Accounting Manager

A domestic manufacturing company is looking to add a cost accountant/Assistant Controller to their finance team.

Responsibilities:Cost analysis and reporting: Analyze financial data related to the cost of goods sold, inventory, production, and other expenses.Budgeting and forecasting: Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts for cost-related activities, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company goals and objectives.Cost control: Work with production, engineering, and other departments to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, such as reducing waste, improving efficiency, and optimizing processes.Inventory management: Monitor inventory levels, analyze variances, and report on trends to ensure accurate inventory valuation.Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations.Essential Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with a focus on cost accounting.CPA or CMA certification preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
