Public and private credit company that invests in bonds, loans, preferred equities and structured income products. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and help support our ambitious growth goals. We are seeking an experienced Trader to support our senior investment team and report to the Investment Committee. The candidate will be responsible for executing and managing trades in credit instruments, including high yield bonds, leveraged loans, preferred stock, listed equities and unlisted equities across the risk spectrum from stressed to performing. This role demands a deep understanding of credit markets, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to make informed trading decisions in alignment with the firm’s credit investment objectives. This position will play a pivotal role in executing credit investment strategies, optimizing portfolio performance, and contributing to our overall success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Execute buy and sell orders, ensuring accurate and timely execution while minimizing trading costs.Maintain strong relationships with a broad set of market participants.Stay informed about credit market developments, credit ratings, issuer news, and economic indicators to inform trading decisions and identify credit opportunities and risks.Implement credit risk management strategies to safeguard portfolio assets and optimize credit returns.Ensure all credit trading activities adhere to regulatory and compliance guidelines specific to the credit market, working closely with the compliance team to maintain a strong credit compliance framework.Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for credit trades, including trade confirmations, trade records, and trading logs.Collaborate with the Investment Committee and research team to understand the credit investment strategies and objectives, ensuring alignment in credit trade execution.Provide regular credit trading performance reports to the investment team, including credit execution statistics, credit performance analysis, and recommendations for improvements.Oversee the settlement process for credit trades, working with brokers and custodians to ensure prompt and accurate settlement of credit securities.

Skills and Qualifications:Ability to effectively communicate/pitch ideas with internal constituents, including to the Investment Committee.Must have a minimum of 5 years' work experience and extensive knowledge of credit markets, credit analysis, and trading strategies for credit instruments.Proficiency in using credit trading platforms and technology such as MarketAxess and [Eze] or other OMS/PMS systems.Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions in fast-paced credit market environments.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in credit trading.High level of integrity, energy, and flexibility with a positive team oriented "can-do" attitude.Experience with fixed income and nuances that arise in high yield and stressed credit trading.Strong interpersonal relationship skills are critical. Must have solid communication skills and a personal style conducive to building relationships.

Education & Experience:Bachelor’s Degree is requiredBloomberg and excel proficiency are requiredCFA designation is preferredMBA or Master’s Degree in accounting, finance or economics degree is a plus
