Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, with at least 7 years of professional work experience, including 3 years or more in Electrical & Instrumentation design. Proficiency with AutoCAD, a deep understanding of industry standards such as OSHA, NFPA, and NEC, as well as working knowledge of control systems and protocols, are essential for success in this role. ISA standard experience is preferred.
Some of the responsibilities would include:Maintain technical knowledge of 13.2kV, 4.16kV, and 480V switchgear, protective relay application and testing, 480V motor control centers and motors, and 120VAC uninterruptible power systems.Lead site electrical safety team and maintain site arch-flash analysis.Develop, design, and document applications of instrumentation and control systems to integrate with existing PLC and distributed control systems.Evaluate existing instrumentation and utilize engineering design practices to enhance performance.Provide hands-on assistance to Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians in troubleshooting instrumentation problems, including system calibration.Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
Qualifications we are looking for:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field.Minimum of 7 years of professional work experience.At least 3 years of work experience in Electrical & Instrumentation design.Proficient with AutoCAD.Understanding of OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and engineering standards.Working knowledge of control systems (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.).Working knowledge of control protocols (Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, etc.).Familiarity with the different elements of an electrical cabinet.Understanding of motor controls and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
