Senior Business Intelligence Director

We are looking for an individual with the ability to help our organization advance the Business Intelligence capabilities to service both internal and external demands. We are looking for an individual capable of creating and maintaining a robust reporting function, including customized reports from various proprietary systems including financial reporting, client reports, WIP reporting, etc. The Senior Director of Business Intelligence will lead the team in creating the right analytics capability to fully unlock all of the data we currently house, which would create further barriers to entry in our space and continue to separate us from our existing competitors. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record with large scale data integration projects, leading in-house teams on a global level, and working with external providers to ensuring quality feeds.

As a member of our IT Leadership team, you will inform and challenge the business around current trends, new developments in products, business models, operating models, and technology. Using a strong strategic vision, you will align and prioritize problems the business is trying to solve. The Director of Business Intelligence will assess the firm’s Data & Analytic needs within the organization and develop a vision and plan to increase the use of data throughout the firm, while ensuring data needed is easily available for the decision-making process.

Job duties to include: Lead a team responsible for design, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise wide Analytics, BI, EDW and data visualization globallyPartner with business leaders from across the company to prioritize initiatives and standardize approaches to information delivery.Work closely with firm leadership to design and deliver analytic reports that will support data-driven decision making.Serve as a key point of contact for information delivery needs and seeks ways to improve the utilization and adoptionWork closely with Sales & Marketing and Product leadership to drive the development and execution of new data-driven marketplace offeringsCollaborate with the business and data governance to design and implement common data standards to enable consistent and accurate reporting for the businessStay abreast of latest technology and trends in EDW/BI/Analytics spaceNegotiate and maintain contracts with Analytics, BI and Reporting vendorsDevelop a core suite of reports that are designed to translate data into usable, actionable information for the formation and execution of strategies and measures of success.Train and support on SQL, data models, and Tableau to enable the business to use reporting and analytic tools in effective and efficient ways.Lead the analytics efforts to ensure our leadership and management is making business decisions based on data, trends, and models.Provide a variety of predictive modelsLead the Reporting and Analytics teams to provide reports, trends and tactics that are driving business resultsProvide best practices, reporting optimization and owns the process within the organization streamlining communication, integration, and deploymentWork cross-functionally between various departments and clients to understand keySolve complex business problems; communicate complex solutions through storytellingPerform business and P&L impact analysis to identify business growth gaps and levelsPartner with Finance and BI teams on the delivery of accurate and timely reporting that are critical to Marketing, Sales, and Product

Skills and experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldAdvanced degree and certifications highly preferredAt least 10 years of experienceStrong analytical background with business acumen, and heavy experience in business and analytical consulting.Strong experience in solving complex business problems through data and analysis.Proficient and hands-on SQL skills for data analysis.Experience with large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data structuresETL technologies including use of Informatica or similarEDW - Enterprise data warehouse experience integrating and consolidating data from multiple disparate systems into a single source of informationTableau or other data visualization/exploration solutionsKnowledge of Big Data principles, architecture, and technologiesRobust understanding of online measurement and analytics, with the ability to provide meaningful and actionable insights and analysis. Digital attribution experience strongly preferred.Expert level communication skills with a track record in relating technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.Extensive experience attracting, managing, coaching, and retaining high-performing team.
