Job Description
Manage and supervise laboratory personnel, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation. Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Oversee the procurement and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other departments to coordinate and optimize laboratory services. Monitor and evaluate laboratory processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement quality assurance measures. Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of test results and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Stay updated with advancements in laboratory technology and trends, and recommend upgrades or changes as necessary. Foster a culture of safety and adherence to protocols within the laboratory.
Education And Certification Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent is required. Current knowledge of laboratory regulations and standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP) is essential. Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and data management.
