Job Description

As a Senior Big Data QA Engineer, you will be responsible for creation, execution and maintenance of QA automation scripts for enterprise big data assets. You will collaborate with delivery teams to ensure the highest quality of data is made available for applications/products. Reporting to Senior Leader, Data Quality, this role requires you to analyze, test and build tools to meet the data quality validation needs for a cloud platform-based application. A QA mindset in being able to create test cases for verifying the data scenarios that meets business needs is an absolute must. A solid critical thinker with strong programming skills and sound grounding in data quality will be successful in this role.

Job Responsibilities

Test, analyze, and build tools to meet the data quality validation needs for a cloud platform - based applicationCreate test cases for verifying the data scenarios that meets business requirementsCreate automation/scripting/frameworks as needed for assigned QA deliverablesSupport triaging of production issues as applicableFacilitate UAT testing as neededExecute test cases and capture testing artifacts and log defectsCommunicate testing findings/observations to stakeholdersOther duties as required

Job Qualifications

Overall 5-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance of which at least 4+ years of experience in test automation developmentExpert Python ProgrammingStrong in SQL, PL/SQL fundamentalsGood to have experience testing API using PostmanExperience in writing unit tests for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliabilityDeep expertise with Spark, Hive and Google Cloud Platform (preferred)Exposure to handling very large data sets (strongly preferred)Ability to work independently within a quickly changing environment with strict timelinesExcellent organizational, troubleshooting and analytical skills requiredProven communication and documentation skills
