📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Overview Description:This Electrical Engineer position will support the Substation Design (TEEC) organization in the Transmission Services (T) business line.This Electrical Engineer will review, check, and design electrical drawings for electrical power substations; review and check electrical drawings for electrical facilities; conduct Station Service system analysis, and short circuit and Arc Flash studies.REQUIREMENTSEducation & Corresponding Experience:Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or directly related engineering discipline.6 months of experience and knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to components and facilities found on a regional transmission system.
Required Technical Skills & Experience:6 months of experience in performing design or technical review of high voltage substation physical designs in at least one of the following disciplines: Protective Relay and Control, Metering/SCADA, or HV Outdoor Equipment. Experience should include new substations, capacity additions, line/position extensions, reliability/automation improvements, equipment relocations/replacements, maintenance, and as-builts.6 months of experience working with professional engineering theory and techniques sufficient to provide technical leadership in the design of the physical components of substations.
Preferred Skills & Experience (optional):Knowledge of substation protection schemes.Knowledge of Remedial Action Scheme (RAS).Knowledge of substation SCADA design or construction1 year of experience in the following:QA/QC for electrical substation projects.Short Circuit and Arc Flash Study.1 year of experience with software programs to include:Easy Power for arc flash studiesBluebeam Revu or Adobe ProMicroStation or AutoCAD1 year of experience with File Structure System ProjectWise.
