Company DescriptionThe Cottonwood Heights Parks and Recreation Service Area, based out of the Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center in Cottonwood Heights, UT, has been providing recreation and fitness for the community since 1967. With amenities such as seven pools (indoor and outdoor), an Olympic-sized hockey sheet, full-sized basketball court, cardio and fitness rooms, group fitness classes, youth lessons and programs, and outdoor pickleball and tennis courts, we offer a wide range of activities for all individuals. As an independent special taxing district, we are governed by elected board members and are separate from Cottonwood Heights City and Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation.
Role DescriptionThis is a part-time on-site role as a Lifeguard at the Cottonwood Heights Parks and Recreation Service Area. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all individuals at our pools and providing a positive and enjoyable experience for our guests. Your day-to-day tasks will include monitoring pool activities, enforcing safety rules, responding to emergencies, providing first aid when necessary, and maintaining a clean and organized pool area.
Pay Rate: $15.00 - $16.50/hr DOE ($14.25 - $16.50/hr DOE under 16 years of age)
QualificationsAmerican Red Cross Lifeguard CertificationCPR and First Aid CertificationStrong swimming skills and knowledge of water safetyAbility to effectively communicate and enforce safety rulesAbility to remain calm and respond quickly in emergency situationsExcellent observation and attention to detailAbility to work well in a team and interact with guests of all agesPrior lifeguard experience is preferred, but not requiredExperience in customer service is beneficial
