📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Preakness Healthcare Center is a skilled nursing facility owned and operated by the Passaic County Board of County Commissioners. Our mission is to provide the finest care to our patients and residents. We offer sub-acute care, physical rehabilitation, long-term care, behavioral management, Ventilator/Respiratory Care Hospice and Palliative Care, and Respite services. Preakness Healthcare Center has been providing high-quality healthcare since 1929.
Diagnosis and evaluates speech and language competencies of individuals with communication problems; and plans, directs, and conducts treatment programs to restore or improve communicative efficiency for these patients.
- Diagnose speech, language, and voice disorders by administering appropriate tests and interpreting test results.• Conducts oral-peripheral examinations and interprets findings to residents, or professionals. • Plans, directs, and conducts remedial programs designed to restore or improve communicative efficiency.• Trains residents with functional or organic speech disorders to produce, improve, or conserve proper speech.• Writes reports on diagnostic findings, therapy used, and progress made.• May provide in-service training for physicians, nurses and other professional personnel in speech and pathology.
Hours: Part-time; Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
Requirements
Education: Master's in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college/university.
Experience: Adults, Sub-acute, and long-term care.
Note: N/A
License: Possession of a current and valid license to practice speech pathology in the state of New Jersey issued by the New Jersey Division of consumer Affairs of the Department of Law and Public Safety.
