Barista & Tap Ambassador
COVA Brewing Company, located in the East Beach area in Norfolk, VA, is looking for full time and part time team members. COVA is looking to build a team of people who are passionate about community. We will teach you everything you need to know through our exceptional training program. We hire for attitude and train for skill.
Report to: Shift Leads, Operations Managers,. & General Manager

Experience/QualificationsNo experience necessary, but preferredMust take a course and pass a test as a certified Food Handler and Alcohol Server
Core ResponsibilitiesCreate a welcoming environmentBe a strong advocate for the COVA brand, both in-house and outside the buildingBecome proficient as a Barista and as a Tap AmbassadorWork efficiently in a team and independentlyFollow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests -Maintain a clean working spaceComply with health and safety regulationsMaintain consistent attendance when scheduled and be punctual
SkillsExcellent customer service (listening and verbal communication skills) -Ability to work in a team environment
TasksWork at the coffee bar as well as at the tap wallTake customer orders and collect paymentMake exceptional drinks using the espresso machineAssemble and serve food and drink in accordance to COVA’s recipe and presentation guidelines -Restock suppliesExplain beer styles and serving basics to customersExplain the Pour My Beer system and help customers navigate along the tap wallSuggest menu items and beer styles customers might enjoy
Additional RequirementsAble to stand 100% of your shift (4-8hrs) -Able to lift 25-50lbsExposure to cold and heatMust work weekends
Compensation:Starting pay: $8.50/hour plus tips. (Pay rate increases based on merit)
