Company DescriptionCreative Art Therapy Place, PLLC is a community-based Art Therapy counseling center located in Brooklyn, NY. We hold individual and group art therapy sessions, holistic healing events, and fine arts workshops. Our Healing Arts Gallery showcases our clients’ artwork as they continue to process their experience through art-making in our therapy sessions. We believe in giving our clients the space to share their healing process on a public platform can help them continue to integrate their experiences and create a positive impact in our community.

Role DescriptionThis is a contract Creative Arts Therapist role with some flexibility for in-person or remote work. Bilingual therapist required (preferably in Spanish). Needed for in-person individual and family and/or couples therapy sessions on Sundays throughout the day (with flexible hours), Wednesday and Friday mornings. There is some flexibility during these days, although Sundays in-person are not required for the first year. Saturdays for in-person sessions optional. Virtual availability at any time throughout the week.An Art Therapist is also needed for Monday or Wednesday evening Art Therapy groups, with a higher rate of $100/session for groups sessions. The Creative Arts Therapist will be responsible for conducting individual and group therapy sessions using art, music or dance and movement forms of therapeutic treatment. The Creative Arts Therapist will help clients work their way through emotional and mental health issues with the aim to improve their overall wellbeing. Experience working with CBT, DBT, IFS and somatic informed therapeutic modalities preferred.

QualificationsCandidate must possess Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or Dance and Movement Therapy degree from an accredited institution.Experience practicing music therapy, art therapy, or dance and movement therapy with children, adolescents and adults (couples and family therapy experience preferred but not required. Supervision is provided.)Experience working with clients who have mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, and interpersonal issuesExcellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups.Ability to work collaboratively with other mental health professionalsExtended experience in working with multicultural communities.Professional license and certification in New York State for relevant fieldBilingual therapist, as Spanish or Mandarin speaking clinicians are most needed in our community.
