📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Title: Power BI/GIS Analyst Location: Richmond VA Duration: 6+ Months Type: Contract Note: Local Richmond, VA candidates strongly preferred at least 3 days/wk onsite required Contractor will be responsible for purchasing parking through VDOT's Parking Management Office or procuring their own parking Responsibilities: Work with the data science team to build the visualization applications using ArcGIS and PowerBI platforms and also build internal applications using the PowerApps/Powerautomate platform OSI purpose, goals, and portfolio statement Reimagining transportation through a culture of innovation; Innovating through a set of high impact imperatives What broad set of solutions is OSI pursuing? Working smarter and proactively though the use of data analytics and automation • Building digital twins of the roadway infrastructure to bring the data, computing, visualization together • Modernize the applications Core responsibilities Gain broad understanding of the innovation framework Use the innovative/latest tools and best practices to build applications using the Power Platform and ArcGIS Follow all applicable industry and VDOT standards, processes and Protocols Engage multiple customers and develop applications to meet their needs manage stakeholder communications and expectations Performs preliminary troubleshooting and technical assistance for hardware and associated software. KSA: Process mapping experience, Code Documentation, Writing Requirements/Scope documents, Writing use-cases, using architectural artifacts interpreting solution architectures Excellent written and oral communication Customer focused collaboration Ability to travel around the state as needed Minimum of three days in the office to work with the rest of the team Experience: Minimum of years programming experience in a high level compiled language such as C#, C++, Java Minimum of years experience with scripting languages such as javascript and Python Minimum of years experience with Microsoft PowerPlatform to include PowerApps, PowerAutomate, SharePoint and Dataverse. (Hard Requirement) Minimum of years experience using GIS for creating dynamic mapping applications and processing real-time location data. Minimum of years experience using RESTFul APIS Other Software Knowledge: Visio, Visual Studio Code/Visual Studio Community Edition, SQL Server, Azure Datalakes and Warehouse, Oracle, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Experiences Required/Desired Skills programming experience in a high level compiled language such as C#, C++, Java experience with scripting languages such as javascript and Python experience with Microsoft PowerPlatform to include PowerApps, PowerAutomate, SharePoint experience using GIS for creating dynamic mapping applications and processing real-time location data. experience using RESTFul APIS
