Tooling Design Engineer

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Tooling Design Engineer in Mossville, IL. The work will be done onsite. This is a long term contract. It can lead to permanent employment with our customer. Compensation is $90,000/yr + benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401K, and holiday pay). Cullerton Group will provide sponsorship.Job Description: Tooling Design EngineerPosition Summary: We are seeking a Tooling Design Engineer with extensive experience and expertise in manufacturing, particularly in tool and fixture design, as well as manufacturing technology. The ideal candidate will combine tool design knowledge with process design expertise to enhance the manufacturability of parts and major components. This role involves collaboration with design teams across different locations to support global manufacturing operations, providing solutions for tooling needs and enhancing production productivity.Key Responsibilities:Work closely with design teams in various locations to support global manufacturing facilities.Provide direction and solutions for tooling requirements to boost production efficiency.Collaborate with multiple departments to develop efficient and cost-effective tool designs.Analyze current and proposed product/process designs for feasibility, suggesting improvements for manufacturability.Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, and shop personnel to ensure informed decision-making for manufacturing processes and cost reduction.Conduct feasibility studies for new applications and ensure compatibility between different systems and operations.Adhere to quality standards, cost reduction policies, safety, and ergonomics in all duties.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronic, or similar) or 15 years of experience in tool and die making.Minimum of 5 years of experience in Tooling Design.Minimum of 5 years of experience in Heavy Fabrication.Willingness to travel internationally 30% of the time.Proven experience in Project Management.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in Lifting and Rigging.Knowledge in Machine and System Integration.Hands-on mechanical aptitude.Proficiency in GD&T and 3D Modeling.Familiarity with Work Holding equipment.Skills in PLC Programming, Robotics, Welding, and/or Machining.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.Language proficiency in Spanish or Hindi is a plus.
