📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Description
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team in Glen Burnie, MD.
$5000.00 Sign on Bonus!
(This is a resident tech role which will report to Montgomery County)
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways
Complete repairs on engine products in a service shopPerform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools.Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles.Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies.Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins productsMaintain own tools.
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
(Entry)
Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnosticsRequires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.
(Intermediate)
Completes complex internal engine repairs.Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision.
(Advanced)
Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic toolsLarger more complicated engine rebuilds.Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally Valid Driving Permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)
Valid Drivers license with no restrictions required.
A CDL may be required to obtain upon hireFederal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or olderThis position will require a Med-Card and we will also be required to complete a DMV driving report. CANDIDATE MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD. This position will be part of the FTA pool.This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violationsThis role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physicalThis role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device useFederal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of ageThis position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
Compensation And Benefits
Salary Range - Based on Experience
Level I - 21.54 - 32.31
Level II - 25. - 37.50
Level III - 29.23 - 43.85
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
