Description
We are seeking an experienced 1st Shift Maintenance Technician. The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives:Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility's equipmentProvide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine serviceBuild and wire control panels to print, including layout and physically mounting devices to back panels, wiring per print and testing the panel to ensure that it is built according to plan (Point to Point)Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilitiesPerform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machinesRead and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Provide and maintain a filing system for instruction/repair manuals and for historic record of maintenanceDiagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustmentsDevelop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all machines, vehicles, and cranesInstruct operators on their preventive maintenance requirementsMaintain a cost effective parts inventory for systematic and secure storage and retrievalRepair breakdowns on a schedule that is approved by the Plant ManagerMaintain building and groundsMake recommendations for selection of new equipment and installs, coordinating with outside contractors when necessary About UsCustom Engineering is a heavy fabrication, welding, and machine shop conveniently located less than a mile off the Bayfront Parkway on McClelland Ave. Our ability to complete complex jobs both long-run and short-run, top-of-the-line machinery, and outstanding quality allow us to serve many industries including oil & gas, construction, mining, transportation, power generation, and entertainment.

Requirements:Good oral and written communication skillsAbility to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environmentBasic math skillsTwo or more years of related experience in industrial maintenanceIndustrial electricity experience, preferred PLC knowledgeHydraulic troubleshooting experienceBuilding and grounds maintenance experience
