📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
This entry level position, under general supervision, is to perform accounting tasks necessary to maintain company corporate financial records and process related data. Accountabilities include assisting with the preparation of financial statements and the monthly, quarterly, and year-end internal reporting processes and with various ad hoc requests related to corporate accounting and reporting, including special projects such as business improvement initiatives. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent required. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS1+ years of experience in corporate accounting or related field preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles requiredAdvanced MS Excel spreadsheet and Word skills required.Experience with Oracle financials and system a plus.Fluent in English, oral and written required.Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work well in a team environment.Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES TO ASSIST WITHConsolidate financials in Oracle and review intercompany eliminations.Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement variance analysis.Determine correct general ledger coding for various transactions and assist with activation/deactivation of general ledger account strings.Maintenance of support for financial reporting records and review binders.Prepare monthly statements of cash flows, Equity and NCI roll forward for different reporting entities.Prepare monthly internal accounting package.Set up new account coding elements within Oracle (i.e. cost centers, cost elements, recons, etc.).Maintain the overall general ledger structure.Prepare monthly reconciliations to the trial balance.Ensure SOX compliance for responsible area.Administer monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliations and supporting documents for SOX compliance.Prepare reporting package for parent company reporting requirements, including all the supporting schedules.Quarterly and year-end, respond to audit requests.Prepare various account analysis and complete Ad hoc requests.Provide SEC reporting group with footnote support schedules and financial statement tables for disclosures in the Company's 10-Qs/10-Ks.Special projects and analysis.As needed, complete government census and survey forms.EXPECTED RESULTSRegularly communicate with supervisor of work progress, questions and concerns.Timely and accurate performance of monthly and quarterly required reporting.In-depth understanding of the activity within assigned accounts.Timely and accurate preparation of reconciliations and account analysis.Timely completion of assigned tasks and projects.Maintenance and monitoring of assigned SOX and internal controls.Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
