Commercial Landscape Estimator

Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Landscape Estimator to join our team and provide accurate estimates for landscape and hardscape projects. The Landscape Estimator will develop proposals and bids for commercial construction projects and review project plans, specifications and other relevant materials.

Key Responsibilities

Develop proposals, prepare estimates, and review project plans and related documents.Develop bids for full range of job types (e.g., sub, prime, prime bid package, design-build).Gather data from suppliers, subcontractors, and other relevant sources.Analyze the scope of work and create detailed estimates.Develop scope of work documents.Perform quantity take-offs and prepare bid packages.Review bids prepared by others.Maintain records of materials, labor and cost.Initiate and manage the bid process.Answer questions and address concerns from contractors and suppliers.Prepare change orders, and process addendums.Plans out the bid process and related strategy.Verify that metrics are accurate (e.g., formula, quantity input, price check, standard unit cost).Follow the bid review procedure and complete the bid review one day ahead of schedule.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.Minimum of three years experience as an estimator in commercial landscape and/or hardscape construction.Excellent knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and regulations.Proficiency with estimating software programs (e.g. OST, Quick Bid).Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel Working knowledge of scheduling software. Prior experience with CalTrans projects is a PLUSAble to customize and scale drawings.Good organizational and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.Attention to detail and accuracy.
