Estimator - Heavy Highway - Construction, Estimator, Civil

The Estimator is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of projects to be bid. He or she prepares bids, selects vendors/subcontractors, and estimates self-perform crew compositions and production rates. He or she performs quantity take-offs using a complete and detailed understanding of the project scope.

Required Skills & Experience

At least 5 years of experience

Estimator working on Earthwork, Grading or Underground ProjectsBachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline is preferred Field operations experience is strongly preferred Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word Software knowledge: Hard Dollar, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Agtek, and HCSS (Heavy Bid) Quantify project components assigned by the lead estimator Perform earthwork and underground (stormwater and wet utility) takeoffs and pricing for heavy civil projects Work with other estimating team members to build the estimate, then price assigned items in Hard Dollar Provide accurate take-offs - Analyze and enter quotes into Hard Dollar Handle solicitation of subcontractors and vendors for their discipline of work
