Corporate Accounting, Vice President/Controllerfor Global Leader Investment Firm

A Top Global Asset Manager with offices in Dallas and New York, is expanding and looking for someone to lead their Corporate Accounting team.

Job Description:The ideal candidate should have a strong accounting background in the funds management or real estate industry, with a minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience. The candidate should have strong budgeting and reporting experience, including preparing and reviewing financial statements. The Controller is responsible for all management company accounting with the assistance of 2-3 direct reports. You will be reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Accounting and CFO.

Responsibilities:Prepare quarterly budget(s)Review and approve wires with respect to Accounts Payable and ad-hoc capital calls/distributionsPrepare calculation of quarterly distributable cashReview general ledgers monthlyReview quarterly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and quarterly consolidationReview subscription billingsProvide mentorship and training to the Accounting Manager and corporate accountantsManage cash flow in order to ensure sufficient cash is on hand to pay expenses and fund investmentsReview monthly/quarterly journal entries with respect to fund income and management company income recognitionAssist with necessary system implementations and continued automation of processes, including the Netsuite accounting system and the StavPay accounts payable systemReview annual audit report(s) and assist with management of the annual audit(s) Manage the firm's co-investments, capital calls, distribution notices, etc.Prepare capital calls and distribution correspondence with limited partners’Manage and maintain the firm's profit interest program (“PIP”)

Experience:A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. An advanced degree is considered a plus.Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, budgeting and financial reportingBoth public and private accounting experience is highly preferredMinimum of 3-4 years in a similar capacityFinancial services industry experience required, ideally with an investment firmHands-on, independent contributor who is comfortable directing the activities of othersExcellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate well with members of different groups throughout the organizationAbility to identify and analyze problem situations and develop an effective course of actionAbility to successfully manage multiple priorities and competing demands, excellent time/project management and prioritization skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, but can still see the big pictureCPA strongly perferred
