Role Summary Statement

The Lead Innovation Specialist is responsible for orchestrating and facilitating internal & external Scientific Communities across geographies. The incumbent will highlight strategic initiatives around scientific themes, run and manage conferences to engage and inspire the Scientific Communities and unite them behind breakthrough opportunities in their field of expertise. The role will consequently contribute to developing technology & innovation resources and give scientists visibilities and opportunities to thrive. Supporting the Senior Innovation Director – Science and Technology Talent & Culture Leader, the incumbent will work closely with the Technology & Innovation Strategy Team to identify emerging scientific opportunities to drive growth within Cytiva and within Danaher and to facilitate the exposure of these themes to the Scientific Communities. Partnering with Communications and HR to promote and increase Cytiva's external presence as an Innovation leader in the Life Sciences community.

Key responsibilities

Develop and deploy mechanisms that engage the innovative power of existing and new associates to address emerging science and technology needsWorking with stakeholders to define the theme of the conferencesDevelop and run internal & external conferences: ensuring broad engagement and demonstrating the innovative power of our associatesIdentify opportunities for scientific associates to gain exposure, expand knowledge, network and present their innovation e.g. poster sessionsImprove access to resources and cutting-edge technologiesBring business focus to scientific research, embedded in Cytiva innovation cultureSupport VP Internal Innovation Partnership in development and deployment of mechanisms that provide an opportunity for new and existing associates to develop entrepreneurial mindset, discipline and skill in successful InnovationSupport Internal Innovation & R&D teams in developing, maintaining and standardizing Innovation Toolbox for CytivaSupport VP Internal Innovation Partnership in understanding and integrating innovation needs, methodologies and frameworks to ensure the business thrives

Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications

Proven experience in R&D and/or Project ManagementExperience of early-stage new product development & disciplined innovationExperience with contemporary research and biotherapeutic customer workflowsCoordination and project management experience, desiredStrong analytical, problem-solving, time management & organizational skillsStrong desire to create research and/ or clinical and commercial impact

Technical Expertise

B.Sc in Engineering, Management, or Science requiredPhD in molecular biology, cellular biology, molecular medicine, pharmacology or molecular life sciences desirableDBS and non-DBS Innovation tools or related qualificationsUnderstanding of Legal Frameworks, Compliance, Licensing
