Aerospace Summer - Internship
Operations Internship
Under supervision of the Operations Manager or delegated Operation staff, the Operations Intern assists Operation staff to perform basic level work. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership.
Operations Responsibilities
Learn all Operations within an Aviation platform.Interns will support the project involved SPC related to Quality and Manufacturing engineering.Contribute to Statistical Process Control data analysis. Working with Operations Leaders in various areasShadow the Aviation tools divisionWill perform clerical support during systems transition.Set up and coordinate the label/barcode tools.Support the audit training program.visual aidsInterns will complete a report and presentation at the end of their internship.
Operations Required Skills
Must be enrolled at a college/university with a major in Aerospace/Aviation, Manufacturing, Operations or Management Information Systems0-2 years of related experience, or related courseworkStrong verbal and written communicationExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work well in teamsStrong work ethic and attention to detailAbility to lift up to 25lbsAbility to read and speak English proficiently required in order to perform the job
Industrial Engineering Internship
IE Responsibilities
Manage and run an Industrial Engineering project focused on Lean initiatives and/or floorspace optimizationLearn to perform utilization studies, time studies, or other direct observation-based studies to conduct statistical analysisGain knowledge about aerospace industry, materials, and methods used for assemblyWork as part of a small team supporting aerospace manufacturing processCompile lists of potential improvements that can be made and implement these changes

Engineering Degree in progressBasic Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD softwareBasic Proficiency with Microsoft VisioAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft ExcelGood project management, communication, and training skillsAbility to work as a self-starter and as a team member in a demanding industrial environmentAbility to analyze data and processes as well as use problem solving methods to identify root causes and find best solutions.Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Ability to read and speak English proficiently required in order to perform the job

8 – 10 weeksMonday – Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, flexibility
