General Accountant Job DescriptionAs our General Accountant, you will help the Accounting Team by taking responsibility for the corporate accounting practices including maintenance of accounting records, preparing financial reports, internal auditing, and tax compliance. This position may work at either our Detroit Lakes, MN, or Ashland, OH locations, or may work remotely based on experience.
What you’ll do as a General Accountant:Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements in a timely mannerPrepare and file state sales tax returnsRecord and maintain fixed asset and depreciation listingsUse careful analysis to influence colleagues with fact-based approaches and ideas to ensure optimal performance and resultsWhat you’ll bring to the General Accountant role:Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and account reconciliationsAbility to gather and analyze information from the general ledger system to answer accounting and financial questionsStrong attention to detailWillingness to challenge senior management in a constructive, balanced way, offering solutions and fresh thinking
