Senior Staff Accountant Job DescriptionAs the Senior Staff Accountant, you will be analyzing and recording financial data and providing financial information to management. You will also be preparing journal entries and assisting with the preparation of financial reporting requirements.
What you’ll do as the Senior Staff Accountant:Document and prepare financial account entries by compiling and analyzing account informationSummarize the current financial status by collecting informationPrepare financial and operational schedules to support the Accounting Manager in monthly and year-end closing responsibilitiesMaintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures for the Accounting Manager’s considerationReconcile ledger accountsReview data integrity reports and correct posting issuesPrepare recurring and manual general ledger entries through the analysis of data and determination of appropriate account balancesSupport project accounting by conducting reviews of job activity and postings to ensure the integrity of the revenue recognition cycleSupport the General Accountant and AP processes by answering questions and providing guidance related to sales and use tax liability determinationWhat you’ll bring to the Senior Staff Accountant role:2+ year degree in accounting3+ years of experience in accountingMust have proficient skills in the use of computer programs and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPointAbility to learn and apply new technologies to job responsibilitiesMust be a good team player with strong communication skillMust be detail-oriented, and have effective time management skills
