Sr. Network Engineer - Manufacturing - Norwood, MA
Daley And Associates is currently seeking a talented and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join a client who is prominent in the manufacturing space. This Senior Network Engineer will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our advanced network infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient communication across our organization.
Responsibilities
Design and implement advanced network solutions that support the research and development activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their networking needs and provide technical expertise and guidance. Evaluate and improve network performance by monitoring and analyzing network traffic and executing necessary adjustments. Manage and troubleshoot complex network and security issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Develop and enforce network security protocols to protect our confidential research data and intellectual property. Stay updated on emerging network technologies and best practices, making recommendations for continuous improvement. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a network engineer, with a focus on designing and implementing complex network infrastructures. Proven expertise in enterprise-level network design and implementation, including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, Palo Alto, routing, switching, and firewall configuration. Strong knowledge of network protocols and standards, including TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN. Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Cisco Prime. In-depth understanding of network security principles and technologies, including IDS/IPS, firewall administration, and network encryption. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
