Test Lab Intern

Position Overview

The Test Lab Internship runs through the college summer break and gives engineering students an opportunity to complete real work tasks in a mechanical validation and verification laboratory. After completing the internship, the students often have the opportunity to continue working on a part time basis during the school year.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

Essential Duties

Design new tooling for use in the Test Lab Complete tests from start to finish: Create a test layout, write a test plan, run the test, assist in the setup and teardown of test assemblies, inspect test units at the conclusion of the tests, and write reports. Work on Solid Modeling and analysis tasks with a Design Engineer The intern will work full time during the summer months with the option of working part time during the fall and spring semesters.

Knowledge & Skills Summary

Proficiency with SolidWorks 3-D modeling software required. If the candidate does not have SolidWorks experience proficiency in another program such as CATIA, ProE/Creo, NX, or SolidEdge will be considered. Hands on mechanical aptitude required Proficiency with Microsoft Office required Experience with hydraulic equipment preferred Experience working with data acquisitions systems and PLC’s preferred

Education and Experience

Sophomore or Junior status in A.B.E (Machine Systems), M.E. or M.E.T curriculum.
