Principal Duties/Responsibilities (essential Functions)

Establish and maintain relationship with and serve as primary point of contact for assigned FAA Safety Inspectors.Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of and is the local authority for all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and the Repair Station Quality Control and Training ManualsEnsures compliance with all elements of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 145Plans, organizes, staffs, controls, and directs the Inspection departmentDevelops, maintains and complies with the FAA Repair Station Manual and Quality Control ManualDevelops, maintains and complies with the FAA Training Program ManualObtains and maintains domestic and foreign repair station approvals.Administers the approval of suppliers and monitors supplier performanceAdministers the Internal Quality Audit ProgramCoordinates with Department Managers to comply with requirements of the Repair Station Training Program and maintains the technician's training recordsAdministers the Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic equipment calibration programComplies with Repair Station's record keeping requirementsEnsures that all technical data is currentControls the issuance of inspectors' stamps and manages the Repair Station rostersMay travel to customer locations to establish and / or maintain good working relations including dispute resolutionObserves company rules and regulations, including housekeeping and proper use of safety methods and the safe operation of proper equipmentStays current with industry trends and innovationsPerforms other related duties as assigned by the Accountable Manager

Non-principal Duties/Responsibilities (non-essential Functions)

May perform inspection of aircraft maintenance and alterations for quality and airworthiness, providing the approval for return to service with respect to the work performed (if authorized)Perform special assignments and projects as required by Management.

Minimum Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.Ten years aircraft maintenance experience.Five years aircraft inspection experience.Two years in a Supervisory or Management role in a FAA Repair Station environment.Previous experience interfacing with FAA Flight Standards Inspectors.Comprehensive knowledge of FAA and Federal Aviation Regulations including but not limited to 14 CFR Parts 21, 43, 135, 145Working knowledge of Foreign Regulatory Authorities/ Regulations.Working knowledge of FAA applications including but not limited to VDRP, SDR, DRS, SAS and AWC.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and web-based applications.The proven ability to train and lead employees. Must possess interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments, organizations, and Regulatory Agencies.Must be pro-active and team orientated.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be able to walk long distances, climb, and kneel for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation.Good vision, 20/20 corrected minimum

Additional Desired Qualifications

BS Degree in Engineering or Management FieldsFAA Inspection Authorization (IA).Bilingual Portuguese or SpanishFamiliarity with Aviation Safety Management Systems
