Position SummaryThe Buyer will be responsible for obtaining materials and services and managing vendors to be consistent with cost, quality, reliability, and timing requirements to support business goals. Responsible for purchasing and negotiating pricing for materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers. This position will be based in Nashua, NH and report to the Purchasing & Inventory Manager.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development of long-term purchasing strategies and supplier consolidations;Responsible for reviewing purchasing buy signals, collecting multiple quotations, purchasing of electronics and mechanical assemblies;Identify single source suppliers and investigate/develop alternative sources;Manage contracts including renewals, document management, and risk management;Actively manage inventory levels to optimize net working capital;Review MRP reports, analyze data and make recommendations on volume purchases based on historical numbers and forecasts;Responsible for procurement of non-inventory items such as office supplies;Report on all material shortages affecting production and expedite solutions as required;Assists with donated or scrapped/obsolete items (material, equipment, etc.), including valuation of items and arrangement of shipment/disposal;Report on supplier, inventory, quality and cost improvements to Finance, Operations and Engineering;Coordinate among Engineering, Quality and Production teams any initiatives for quality and cost improvements;Participate in MRB activities, facilitate the prompt disposition of non-conforming materials;Create and track KPI’s and regularly report progress to leadership;All other duties as assigned;

Experience, Skills, and EducationSupplier management experience required;3-5 years with negotiation and quote analysis experience required;4-year degree or equivalent experience;ERP experience; Acumatica preferred; Strong analytical skills, expert Excel user;Superior communication skills, both verbally and in written form, typically in English, with employees and suppliers;Must show excellent attention to detail and ability to follow documented processes;APICS CPIM or CSCP certifications preferred;

CompensationAnnual base salary, depending on candidate’s experience;3 weeks annual paid vacation;Company Medical, Dental, Life, Disability and 401(k) with match;
