Company DescriptionThe Office of the DeKalb County Solicitor-General, under the direction of Solicitor-General Donna Coleman-Stribling, prosecutes more than 13,000 misdemeanor crimes committed in DeKalb County each year. This includes domestic violence, elder abuse, cruelty to children, vehicular homicide, drunk driving, harassment and stalking, trespassing, animal cruelty, and county ordinance violations. The office is committed to upholding the laws and statutes of Georgia and DeKalb County and works to prevent and deter criminal activity through professional and impartial prosecution. The dedicated team at the Office of the Solicitor-General, including prosecutors, investigators, victim-witness advocates, community liaisons, and legal assistants, is committed to holding offenders accountable.
Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role located in Decatur, GA for an Investigator II at the DeKalb County Solicitor-General's Office. The Investigator II will be responsible for conducting investigations related to misdemeanor crimes in DeKalb County, including collecting and preserving evidence, interviewing witnesses, analyzing data, and preparing reports. The Investigator II will collaborate with prosecutors, law enforcement agencies, and community organizations to support the prosecution of criminal cases. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
