Project Manager-Natural Gas Power Generation

Job Title: Project Manager – Natural Gas Power Generation Location: Remote Pay Range:$50-$60/hr

Job OverviewEmployees in this role lead the early-stage project management function supporting project origination and preparing for the execution of new fossil fuel power generation projects. Projects include natural gas-fired simple cycle and combined cycle power generation projects. This job coordinates site selection and due diligence, conceptual design, capital estimating, schedule development and supports commercial agreement development to ensure the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner with an acceptable level of risk. This position participates in all aspects of the project to ensure projects are completed on time, within budgetary constraints and perform according to expectations.

Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeads and facilitates the day-to-day management of projects to ensure timely completion as well as cost effective and competitive resultsUses analytical abilities and rigorous thinking to work cross-functionally, determine highest priority actions and tenaciously drive projects forwardCoordinates key functions such as capital estimate and schedule development, engineering/design, project capacity and performance metrics and supports project legal reviews, permitting activities and commercial negotiationsSupports due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects while identifying and developing risk mitigation plansActs as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and utility interconnectionAssists in the construction of contractual arrangements for the project, must be hands on and willing to help write contract documents, both commercial and technicalNegotiates agreements with consultants and contractorsEnsures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirementsFosters relationships with internal customers, external customers and third parties and grows company’s knowledge of new technologies and marketsProvides timely written and oral communication of project issues and progress to Engineering and Construction managementPerforms other job-related duties as assigned

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree with focus on relevant field associated with fossil fuel power generation or closely related field.Experience: 5 years in natural gas-fired power generation or related field design and project management

Preferred QualificationsExperience in project estimatingStrong engineering background to ensure proper oversight of engineering aspects of projectsSkill with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TeamsSkill with Microsoft Project or Primavera project management and scheduling software
