As a Ocean/Air Agent you will be responsible for the movement of our customer’s import and export shipments. You will be the main point of contact for coordination between customer’s shippers and consignees, customs brokers, and shipping carriers.

Key Responsibilities

Execute orders by confirming arrival and pick up times, coordinating with customs brokerage, inputting data, and dispatching deliveries and pick upsBuild customer relationships by responding to customer communications via email, fax and mailWork with ocean, air, rail yards, CFS, and ground transportation partners to handle shipmentsReceive and track purchase orders (P.O.s) from respective offices for pending shipmentsRetrieve shipment details, handle all documentation for cargo and data entry for each shipmentAnswer all customer inquiries in accordance with the Customer Service Policy standardsFurther increase customer satisfaction and business share through proactive and regular contactCommunicate with and ensure release of the freight from carriersNotify customer /customs broker of charges due; provide accurate job costing forecast and perform billing to customer and/or other officesSetup and coordinate deliveries and pick upsHandle and manage all customer contact at file level regarding exceptionsAdditional projects as directed

Skills / Requirements

Exceptional customer service skillsDetail oriented and strong follow-up skillsProficient with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Freight industry experience preferredCargo Wise systems knowledge is a plus
