Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan three times per week, at minimum.

The Role

General Motors is looking for a passionate Lead Connectivity Standards Engineer to drive strategy and impact connectivity within GM. More importantly, this role will influence the future of global vehicle connectivity across the industry.

As a Lead Standards Engineer, you'll be responsible for bringing groundbreaking wireless connectivity to the world through Cellular, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and more. To develop and design GM's state-of-the art connectivity technologies and collaborate across departments to help GM craft wireless solutions that elevate our vehicles and lead the industry.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Technical bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university10+ years of relevant wireless systems, connectivity, or telematics experienceDirect experience with global standardization organizations, such as: NFC Forum, Wi-Fi Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC), Wireless Broad Alliance (WBA), USB-IF, Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), with a track record in achieving standardization deliveriesDemonstrated success influencing peers and leadership cross functionally, both internally and externallyDeep interest, knowledge, and proficiency in standardization and technology trends that impact your success to problem-solve and provide technical expertise to our internal and external customers.Passion for driving business objectives and company vision to action.Ability to collaborate, form relationships, gain credibility, and partner up and down a matrixed organization.

Preferred Qualifications

A company vehicle will be provided for this role with successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review.
