Accounts Payable Specialist
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Duties
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure accurate and timely payments- Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports for proper coding, approval, and documentation- Prepare and process journal entries for accounts payable transactions- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions in the accounting system- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any payment-related inquiries or issues
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred- 2+ years of experience working in accounts payable or a similar role- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and double-entry bookkeeping- Proficient in using accounting software such as ADP, Ceridian, Sage, or UltiPro- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping- Ability to analyze financial information and reconcile discrepancies- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
