📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Direct Counsel is looking for a contract attorney for a long-term temporary assignment with a great law firm located in Los Angeles, CA. Qualified candidates will have experience in toxic tort litigation. Primarily deposition attendance (and summarizing) and assistance with written discovery. Responsibilities Include:• Taking and defending expert and witness depositions• Drafting original motions and other litigation-related documents on complex matters• Drafting discovery requests and responses to be exchanged with various parties• Developing client relationships through oral and written communication• Preparation for trial including motions in limine, exhibit lists, witness lists Qualifications:• 2+ years of asbestos or toxic tort litigation experience is required• Requires a Juris Doctor degree• Licensed in California• Self-motivated individual with high energy willing to do whatever it takes to complete responsibilities on deadline• Experience in billable work environment• Superior written and oral communication skills with attention to detail Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, plus overtime Job Type: Full-time - Remote or Hybrid
