Crater / Packer

Position Overview

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6AM – 2:30PM) Crater/Packer based in Chino, CA. The Crater/Packer is responsible for assembling boxes and crates used for shipping equipment and products for safe and effective shipment by wrapping and crating items as appropriate.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $17/hr - $20/hr plus mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). What You Will Do

Build wooden crates around large or odd-shaped articles using pre-assembled materials Read blueprints, work orders, and other specifications, and inspect products to determine size and shape of containers, materials to be used, and types of supports and braces to be used Assemble materials using handheld pneumatic staples and nail gun Place products in container, manually or using hoist, wrap and pad products with cardboard, foam, or other packing material and wrap and tighten metal bands around crates, using banding equipment and attach identification labels for shipping destinations, weights, and types of products contained in crates May operate chop saw or roto sander to modify materials or products

What We Require

High school diploma or equivalent Effectively read and write in English Proficient with simple hand tools and pneumatic gun Ability to lift and move material and parts up to 50lbs Ability to move in a variety of ways including standing, squatting, stretching, and bending, as needed to build large crates and boxes
