📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Located in HANFORD,CA****Administer compliance with the safety program and lead accident prevention efforts to ensure company and project safety goals are metConduct site inspections of project work areas and equipmentDevelop, organize, and implement safety related programs that meet company safety standardsAssist the investigation of accidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective /preventive measuresPerform and document jobsite inspections and audits with a focus on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviorsCoordinate and conduct safety meetings/training programs to ensure effective communication amongst new and existing employeesParticipate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulationsCarry out any other assigned tasks given by the Area Safety Manager or Area Project Manager
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Safety from an accredited institution or 1 year experience as a safety professional in the construction industryTeam player with a professional image, capable of handling highly confidential informationExercise excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment that may require long hours, including nights & weekendsMust be able to work in varied physical environments which include both indoor and outdoor work in the hot and coldDemonstrate technical and analytical problem-solving skillsStrong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
Preferred
3 years’ construction safety experience in heavy construction (marine works, tunnel, or roadway)OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety TrainedSafety Trained Supervisor-Construction (STS-C) Certified, through the Board of Certified Safety ProfessionalsFirst aid/CPR/AED CertifiedASP, GSP, or CHST designationKnowledge and understanding of OSHA Construction Standards, DOT Safety Standards, MUTCD standards, and other state and federal agency guidelinesAbility to recognize hazardous situations and make independent judgments concerning the general safety of workersProficient in MS Office Suite
