Title: Director of Inventory PlanningSalary: $175-195K plus bonusLocation: Woodbury, NYSchedule: 5x a week in office
Company Profile: A leader in the home furnishing space is looking for a Director of Inventory Planning to join their team. This person will be responsible for implementing a forecasting process to improve the accuracy of inventory and replenishment. This position will strategically manage planning, forecasting, and procurement processes to optimize cash flow while maintaining inventory levels to ensure product availability to meet a company service and business plan objective.
The Director of Inventory Planning will Be Responsible For the Following:a forecast and inventory projection tool to improve analytical agility and reporting capabilitiesa weekly PSI plan and monthly SIOP process across the organizationKPIs and develop reporting mechanisms to track and measure inventory performanceand execute inventory performance strategies to help the team identify risks/opportunitiesinventory optimization initiatives, including assortment rationalization, markdown management, and replenishment strategiesupdate, and modernize inventory management policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure accurate and timely inventory management
The Director of Inventory Planning Should Have the Following Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree8+ years experience in inventory and distribution planning, inventory management, operations, and/or logistics/distribution Strong analytical skills and experience working with data modelingPrior experience implementing an ERP system AS400 a plus but not requiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
