Sourcing Manager

Client Description: Our client is a Global Manufacturer of Industrial Machinery Equipment and Tools. As they have been growing steadily for the last 75+ years, they are seeking a Category Manager for Mechanical and Electrical Commodities.

Role Description: The Category Manager will be responsible for managing Mechanical and Electrical categories with a domestic and international supplier base. This position will work cross functionally with product development, engineering, operations, logistics, and quality.

Responsibilities:Develop and execute category strategies aligned with the overall business objectives and market dynamics.Conduct thorough market analysis, including supplier assessments, competitor benchmarking, and pricing trends, to identify opportunities and risks within the category.Drive cost savings initiatives through effective negotiation, supplier relationship management, and contract optimization.Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment and integration of category strategies.Continuously monitor and evaluate supplier performance, quality, and delivery metrics to maintain high standards and mitigate supply chain risks.Lead supplier selection and qualification processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards for quality, sustainability, and ethical sourcing.Proactively identify and address supply chain disruptions, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement contingency plans and minimize impacts on production schedules.

Qualifications:Must have 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing; Industrial or Machinery experience preferred.Must have 5+ years of experience in Procurement/Category Management.Must have at least a Bachelor's Degree.Must have experience selecting and managing a supplier base.
