CONSULTANT SEARCH ANNOUNCEMENT

TITLE: E2 New York Business Outreach ConsultantCOMPENSATION: ~$4,000-$5,000/month, commensurate with experienceHOURS: Part-time (up to 20 hours/week, negotiable) starting ASAPLOCATION: New York City. Organization DescriptionEnvironmental Entrepreneurs (E2) is a national, non-partisan organization of business owners, investors and others who advocate for smart policies that are good for both the environment and the economy. An affiliate of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), E2 works at both the state and national levels. More information can be found at www.e2.org.

Scope of WorkWe seek a dynamic and motivated individual to help E2 expand our business outreach work in New York. Under staff guidance, this person will identify, recruit, and activate business voices throughout New York in support of state and federal policies that advance clean energy and clean transportation. This person will work with existing E2 business members and supporters in New York, but also identify and help recruit other business leaders in the area who care about both the environment and the economy.

A strong candidate has experience in business organizing, event planning, and communications or policy advocacy. The ideal candidate has established business connections and contacts, preferably in the cleantech and sustainability industries.

Job duties are focused on identifying, recruiting, and activating good business messengers on the economic benefits of smart clean energy and climate policies. This includes building relationships with business leaders and in-state partners, organizing events independently and in collaboration with other groups, and coordinating with partners on policy advocacy.

ResponsibilitiesBusiness outreach: recruit business leaders throughout New York via targeted outreach, partner events, conferences, and more.Events: ideate, plan, and execute events (independently and in partnership with other groups) to educate and engage existing and prospective members of the E2 business network.Policy and Advocacy: Engage E2 members, supporters, and other business leaders in relevant regulatory and legislative processes that advance our policy objectives.Communications: draft event invitations, sign-on letters, marketing materials, and more under E2 staff guidance.Record-keeping: help E2 staff maintain up-to-date records on E2 business members and supporters in New York and throughout the Northeast.
