The Internship

We have an exciting opportunity this summer for a college student or recent grad to join us 3 days a week in person at our Southport, CT office. The internship will begin on or around June 3 for about 10 weeks. You will work alongside our Product Development and Regulatory Team on a wide range of activities and initiatives that support our product development and regulatory program.

Projects and Tasks will include but not limited to

Working with our Regulatory Affairs Manager, you will play a pivotal role in researching and gathering reference materials on the new Pet Food Label Modernization (PFLM) regulations to help prepare us in new label creation. You will help develop FAQ sheets, work with our creative team to create mockup labels, provide label analysis to compare current labels against regulations, in addition to a host of other activities to build and develop the presentation. This project will extend through the summer and culminate with presenting your findings to the team. This will be a great experience and opportunity as you will learn about pet food regulations, have your hand in drafting the materials, work with external and internal partners and collaborate with our team to create the final presentation.

Additionally, you’ll help with completing state registrations for feed, supplements and pesticide products, review ingredients, review marketing materials for compliance, and participate in team meetings around product pipeline innovation. This is a great opportunity for someone with an animal science, food science, or environmental science major interested in Regulatory and Product Development. You demonstrate a strong attention to detail, have strong communication skills, are comfortable with providing feedback, can demonstrate basic presentation skills, and proficient in power point and excel. You are eager to learn, enjoy participating on teams and can demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects at once.

Position is based in Southport, CT and we operate on a hybrid schedule, in the office Tuesday/ Wednesday/ Thursday and home Monday and Fridays. Internship is paid up to 30 hours per week
