QUALIFICATIONS

Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) w/ General Administrative Endorsement.Master’s degree in curriculum, administration, or secondary education.Five (5) or more successful years in administration and school leadership experience preferred.Proven record of accomplishment in school improvement at the secondary level.Experience in implementation of research-based academic initiatives at the secondary level.Experience with developing standards aligned curriculum.Experience with formative assessment design and data use for instruction.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.Displays quality work through accuracy and attention to detail.Demonstrated leadership of continuous improvement and data based decision-making.Effective written, verbal and technology based communication skills.Ability to work with a linguistically and culturally diverse public.

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES

secondary schools including the supervision and evaluation of the secondary principals.regularly with secondary principals to provide guidance and support with the development, implementation, and evaluation of secondary curriculum and instructional services.support and direction for implementation of Professional Learning Communities.with other directors and principals in organizing and coordinating successful transition and middle to high school articulation.the implementation and monitoring of school improvement plans and their alignment to best practices for teaching and learning and the district strategic plan.secondary grading/promotion requirements.student disciplinary recommendations and actions.with central staff and principals to review and analyze assessment data for the purposes of improving teaching and student learning.and administers the secondary education budget, exclusive of salaries.with Directors of Early Childhood and Elementary Teaching and Learning to ensure vertical alignment of PreK-12 teaching and learning.Directors of Student Services and Language Acquisition with ensuring secondary schools comply with state and federal regulations.and facilitates meetings and professional development for a variety of district personnel on best practices and current trends in secondary education.on interview teams to screen and hire building and district administrators.secondary summer school programming.all other duties and responsibilities as assigned but the supervisor or designee.
