📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
About Our Client: Our client is a real estate investment management and advisory firm specializing in Single-Family Rental (SFR) investments. The company is based in West Palm Beach.
This young group of professionals is comprised of capital markets experts, single-family acquisition specialists, fund managers.
Position Overview:We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to join the team as a Property Accountant. This role will be reporting to CFO and will be responsible for the following:
Closing the management companies’ books monthly, including:
Overseeing staff who book’s cash and accruals.Ensuring all relevant accruals are booked.Taxes, insurance, interest expense, etc.Co-ordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure all relevant agreements (Asset Management / Investment Management / Construction/etc.) are executed and housed internally.Prepare budget to actual to present to internal stakeholders monthly.Prepare quarterly financials for presentation to the Board, including consolidation of all management company entities.
Review of Property Manager’s monthly financial packages, including:
Review to ensure financials kept in accordance with GAAP.Ensure packages have sufficient support.Communicate to property managers any transactions that are initiated at HQ that affect property level books, including providing guidance on GAAP treatment of transactions.Set up meeting with PMs to go through Q&A.
Perform Treasury functions for the firm, including
Initiate and/or release payments for various SPV’s and Management CompanyCo-ordinate payment of various vendors of the Management Company and its AffiliatesManage banking relationships for Properties / Management Company
Assist the CFO in ad-hoc projects and assignments.
QualificationsAbility to work independently.Detail oriented individual.CPA a plus, not required.NetSuite proficiency big plus.3 – 4 years of experience as a property/management company accountant at real estate private equity firm, preferred.
Compensation: 100K plus benefits
On-site/hybrid position based in WPBOpen to Canadians who are willing to relocate
