📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
- **This is a remote position, but only local candidates will be considered as the training will be onsite for the first 2-4 weeks of hiring.***
Our Client, an industry leader known for their extensive experience and dedication to delivering quality products to their customers is seeking a dedicated Import Specialist to join their team.
This position is responsible for supporting the Imports group and requires strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills and will develop a working knowledge of import regulations and procedures.
What You'll Do:Imports:Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the accuracy of purchase orders, including verification of best-by dates, production dates, and lot tracking.Audit supplier invoices against purchase orders and confirm Bill of Lading information.Record and process purchase orders in Business Central for inventory and accounting purposes, including container information.Provide warehouses with Inbound Container Notices for inventory control and communicate inventory information.Manage inventory posting/receiving in the ERP system for Canadian warehouses.Oversee insurance filing for purchase orders and containers.Support internal customers in coordinating the inbound shipment process.Ensure compliance with U.S. regulations.
Planning and Purchasing:Update arrival dates and modify purchase orders as necessary.Record landed costs in purchase documents.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:Minimum one year of experience with imported goods or related fields preferred.Experience in the food/grocery industry is highly beneficial.Familiarity with ERP software, such as Microsoft Business Central.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.Sense of urgency, self-motivation, and effective follow-through.Excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal.Commitment to detail and accuracy.
