Emerson is currently seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer to work in our state-of-the-art facility in Marshalltown, IA.  The individual selected for this position will be responsible for Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) technology capabilities, efficiency, and quality. This role will also involve facilitating global alignment between R&D and Production.

This position offers hybrid work arrangement, consisting of a combination of remote and onsite work.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be

Develop and maintain:Processes and procedures related to machine calibrations. This would include facilitating laser caustics, scan field alignment, and laser power.Calibrations for print simulation software ensuring all materials, and parameter variables have accurate results related to stress, deformation, and print failure.Tools to support the broad organization such as build time calculations, Additive feasibility AI, and design guides and rules for parametric modeling.Lead quality and metrology processes and procedures. This will involve collaboration with design team members on component inspection plans and quality expectations.Create and maintain global standards for calibration, operation, and machine settings between R&D and Production to ensure global alignment and repeatability. Collaborate with opportunities for component print efficiency. This would encompass processing parameter, design optimization, and layer thickness schemes. Back-up machine technician with machine loading/ unloading, and post processing activities such as heat-treatment, bandsaw, support removal, and media blasting.Engage with external committees for Additive Manufacturing Adaption.Constant review for Additive Technology breakthroughs within the broad industry to ensure that the program is current on capabilities.

For this Role, You Will Need

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart

Additive Manufacturing experience with Laser Powder Bed systems2-5 years of experience
