Registered Nurse - Perinatal EducatorLocation: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, ILPer Diem
General Summary
Reporting to the Director of Women’s Services, with accountability to the Facilitator of Women’s and Children’s Services. Instructs expectant parents in preparation for childbirth and early parenting and promotes family health and wellness during the childbearing years. Serves as a resource for referring couples to other services of the hospital as needed. Utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient outcomes. Revises plans of care as indicated. This job description was developed in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
What You Will Need
Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.Certification in Perinatal Education or other appropriate approved professional certification.Minimum of three years of Staff Nurse experience in maternal-child nursing.
