Lead Service Technician is accountable for servicing and maintaining gas engine compressor packages and associated equipment across various applications. This role involves leading, supervising, and training a team of Field Service Technicians. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing the field workforce, overseeing performance appraisals, handling disciplinary actions, resolving issues, and managing HR functions as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Directly supervise a team of Service Technicians, ensuring compliance with company policies. Manage field workforce, including performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and issue resolution. Monitor paperwork flow to ensure accuracy and completeness during the billing process. Calculate and interpret Compressor Performance runs and utilize OEM Software. Provide preventative and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression, process, and production equipment at client locations. Troubleshoot and repair equipment, packages, and systems, including minor and major overhauls. Demonstrate strong mechanical abilities to set level and align prime mover to driven equipment using indicators and alignment tools. Provide labor, guidance, and coordination for immediate repairs and major equipment overhauls. Identify and address inefficiencies/issues in equipment, packages, and plants. Offer 24/7 coverage, work occasional overtime, and be available for rotational callouts. Take initiative in line with company standards, policies, and budget constraints. Provide input to the Supervisor on personnel and materials needs for optimal job planning. Deliver leadership and training to new Field Technicians. Assist in equipment Start-up/Commissioning with a broad understanding of procedures and requirements. Possess knowledge of purging and loading practices/procedures.
Safety Measures
Recognize and comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and policies. Participate fully in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Behavior-Based Safety programs. Report incidents immediately to the supervisor. Participate in incident reporting and investigation programs.
